The craft.

Every step becomes a sound.

Dance you can hear.

I’m Alexandra Hänig. Irish step dance is my way of bringing rhythm to life — on stage, in choreography and through teaching.

Irish step dance on stage

Precise footwork, audible rhythm and immediate stage presence. I shape each Irish step dance performance around the occasion and the space.

Workshops

Learning Irish step dance together

Learn the steps, understand the rhythm and set it in motion together. I adapt the content and pace of each workshop to the experience and goals of the group.

For beginners, experienced dancers, groups and teams. We can agree on a focus that suits you.

Cork

Media Production · Radio Broadcasting, 1999–2000

In Cork I trained in Media Production, with a focus on Radio Broadcasting, at Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa from 1999 to 2000.

My studies at University College Cork followed in 2000–2001. Sound, timing and the experience of Ireland are part of my background.

Choreography

From the first step to a work for the stage

I develop Irish step dance choreography and accompany the process from the initial idea through rehearsal to performance.

The level, cast and scope respond to the project. We work on the relationship between footwork, musical timing and the space.

Three years in Ireland

Living, learning and new perspectives

I lived in Ireland for three years. That time, along with my education in Cork, is an important part of my personal journey.

Irish step dance connects this experience with my work in movement, rhythm and teaching.

Developing training. Working with people.

Alongside dance, I bring years of experience in developing and delivering training. From 2018 to 2023, this formed a central part of my professional work.

I draw on this experience in workshops: with clear explanations, room for questions and a pace that suits the group.
